How HR Drives ebitda

1/29/2026

HR professionals need an EBITDA lens because people decisions are business decisions. Hiring speed, turnover, compensation design, productivity, and risk management all flow directly into revenue and operating costs, the two things EBITDA is made of.

Everyday decisions we make quietly add up to real money.
  • For example, cutting time-to-fill for a sales role by 30 days isn’t just “a win for recruiting”, it’s an extra month of revenue that would’ve been left on the table.
  • Or take turnover: reducing avoidable exits by just a few employees can save tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in recruiting costs, training time, lost productivity, and overtime coverage.

When HR looks at these decisions through an EBITDA lens, the work shifts from “doing the right HR thing” to making choices that clearly protect margins and help the business perform better.
